City Smart 15th Anniversary Dinner

Its not every year that a company comes across a 15th anniversary and at City Smart we did not take this milestone lightly.

On Friday, May 20th, 2011 we organized a 15th Anniversary Dinner party at Holiday Inn Hotel in Brisbane City.  We had over 120 guests who took time out from their busy schedules to join with us that evening.

It is no easy feat to grow from a humble home office to the multinational company that City Smart is today.  We had the opportunity to invite Mr. Tony Law, our Director, to come to the stage to make a short speech.   One of our former students, Mr. Clarey Yu, also spoke to the guests about his study experience and pathway.

We also had the pleasure of inviting another of our former staff Ms. Elim Poon along with her friend Ms. King Chan to perform for us that evening.  The ladies being AMEB 8th grade in piano and flute provided the perfect accompaniment to Ms. Chan’s singing.

The highlight of the evening would have to have been the lucky draw.   Our prizes were all generously donated by our partner institutes.  The prizes and winners include:

When we reached the end of the lucky draw the guests simply had not had enough!  Mr. Tony Law and Mrs. Irene Kwok decided to donate two more gifts: TWO iPad 2s!  This caused the guests to become excited once again and the prizes went to:

  1. Ms. Micheale Craymer, Nudgee International College
  2. Mr. Thomas Toh, Griffith University

The evening also celebrated the launch of City Smart’s new logo.  Integrating our City Smart colours with a modern design, the new logo incorporates the C and S from City Smart into its design.

Mr. Felix Fung, one of our former students who has since graduated in 2010 with a Master of Architecture at QUT, created this logo for City Smart.  He has since moved back to Hong Kong and is now working with the renowned architectural firm P&T Architects and Engineers Ltd..

Having been with City Smart for 15 years, it is understandable that initially, many of us at City Smart were reluctant to let the old logo go.  However, we must look forward.  The industry is facing a tough time with the rising dollar and the increasing competition from other countries for international students.  A fresh approach and a boost to everyone’s energy levels is just what we need.

It is with perseverance and hope that we will continue to work towards our goal:

Your study, your future, our priority.

To the next 15 years!
